Bad Taste Bears from then 'til now.

It all began with hubby's business trip to the UK in 2001, just before Christmas. In in a guilty rush to get a gift for me, he purchased Scarlet, at the airport. And so our Bad Taste Bear collection began. Little did I realise that not only collecting these delightful little bears is addictive but it was to change my life.

Bear followed bear (at an amazing rate), I became a member of the Bad Taste Bears Club and soon the cupboard was filled to overflowing.

What amazed me most was other people's reactions - these cute looking bears misbehaving - how people's faces changed when they realized what these bears were doing.

The bears were still relatively unknown then in Holland so I approached Piranha and became a retailer. What a great job selling something that I am passionate about - could it be any better?

Bad Taste Bears, in my opinion, are a strange but good phenomenon - an unusual collectable with a fantastic following, a great community of fellow collectors where lasting friendships are made.

Check out a great fansite Bear Expressions run by a friend of mine, Paul and his new blog

Of course, don't forget to check out my shop but remember to take your sense of humour with you! We specialize in the older, retired bears along with rarer bears. Don't listen to my ramblings, check it out for yourself.

See you soon,

Introducing the "moggy" - Winnie

This is our mlc (much loved cat) - Winnie. She has been part of the family since she was 6 weeks old and in October she will be 19. We brought her with us when we moved from the UK, 8 years ago and she loves her new life here in Holland.
Unfortunately in Febraury she was diagnosed with CRF (Feline Chronic Renal Failure) and we thought that she wouldn't make it. We are so pleased that the tablets worked and 6 months after diagnosis she continues to do well. Like all cats, she is naturally nosey and despite her advancing age, still finds cardboard boxes a great source of fun.

As you will see, I am very new to blogging. Over the next few days, whilst I am getting used to it all, I will show some of my past projects and why I started Krafted Keepsakes.

I have always been a keen crafter – for as long as I can remember. My first love was sewing, which over the years led me into cross stitch.

A Dutch Tulip Field and Big Ben.

These are two of my favourites – Big Ben, as I am originally a “London girl” and a Dutch tulip field, as that’s where we are now.

Well, that's all for my first post.
